BetterZip stores all your passwords in an encrypted vault in the BetterZip preferences file. This way they are easy to copy from one Mac to another together with the rest of your BetterZip configuration. To keep the passwords secure they are stored encrypted with a password, the master password. While the password manager is unlocked, the master password will be temporarily stored in the macOS keychain and BetterZip will get it from there to decrypt your passwords when needed. When the vault is locked, the master password will be removed from the keychain and you will only be able to access the vault by entering the correct master password again. Don’t forget it!
